In the Episcopal Church, women are empowered by working collaboratively with women’s organizations, program and ministry groups within and outside the Church, as well as with global and local networks.

ECW is the contemporary incarnation of the Women’s Auxiliary to the Board of Missions established in 1871. It brings women together for friendship and fun. It is an opportunity for smaller groups of St. Anne’s women to be with each other to share experience and wisdom.

Currently St. Anne’s has 5 chapters that meet monthly, October-March. Chapters focus on building connections between 20-30 women of varying ages; ranging from mothers at the St. Anne’s Day School to senior ladies at the Terrace. They are mostly hosted in private homes, with topics decided by chapter members. Typical guests will speak on spiritual or social themes that inform, educate, and entertain. Most of all, ECW is an opportunity for women to build new friendships and nurture personal growth in a relaxed setting.  Daytime and Evening chapters are available. Optional dues are $20 per year.

ECW administers the United Thank Offering (UTO). The UTO is a program through which empty change boxes are distributed to the parish for individuals to fill as a way of expressing thanks when the Spirit (or extra change) moves them. Proceeds are sent to the National UTO office, where they are used to address compelling human needs though grants and programs that alleviate poverty, both domestic and internationally.

Kick-off Event – In addition to monthly Chapter meetings, the ECW hosts a church-wide event for women twice a year. ECW kicks-off fall chapters at a Salad Tasting Supper in September. All women are invited to participate in ECW. All women of St. Anne’s are automatically a member of ECW.

ECW History – Episcopal Church Women is an international organization that was founded 1871 as the “Women’s Auxiliary to the Board of Missions”. In its early years, the ECW was one of the few ways women could take part in the life of the church outside of Sunday services. ECW has been reinvented to support women of the new millennium who love God and wish to do His work.
