We have all seen the catastrophic damage caused in Louisiana and other parts of the Deep South by Hurricane Ida. The St. Anne’s Mission Committee has voted to provide financial support through the American Red Cross and Episcopal Relief and Development, two trusted relief agencies.
The American Red Cross is currently on the ground providing shelter and mass feeding to thousands in need. After damage and needs are assessed, Episcopal Relief and Development will provide long-term recovery assistance through local Episcopal Churches.
The Missions Committee urges you to join us with your individual contribution. You may make contributions online through the following links:
Or you may send a contribution to St. Anne’s Episcopal Church earmarked Disaster Relief and the church will send your contribution on to these two agencies.
A word on in-kind donations – In-kind donations are not needed at this time. When local infrastructure is devastated there are no mechanisms in place to receive, sort and distribute donated items. Cash donations allow aid agencies to purchase exactly what is needed in bulk and deliver it where it is most needed. Cash donations also funnel much needed business into devastated local economies.
