ABOUT THE RITE OF HOLY BAPTISM
Baptism is initiation into the community of Christian believers, the Body of Christ. At Baptism we profess our faith in the Holy Trinity and we make very specific promises:
- To continue in the apostles’ teaching and
fellowship, in the breaking of the bread, and in the
prayers - To persevere in resisting evil, and, whenever
we fall into sin, to repent and return to the Lord - To proclaim by word and example the Good
News of God in Christ - To seek and serve Christ in all persons, loving
your neighbor as yourself - To strive for justice and peace among all
people, and respect the dignity of every human
being
Our choice to keep those promises, with God’s help, for the rest of our lives is what makes us Episcopalians.
Baptism days in 2023 are: January 8, April 8, May 28, August 6, and November 5. With the exception of the Easter Vigil, which is April 8 at 6pm, all baptisms take place at the 10:30 am Sunday morning service.
