There are groups for all ages and skill levels: see the descriptions below. All rehearsals will begin in September.
ADULT CHOIR: Rehearses Wednesdays from 7:30 – 9:00 PM and is open to high school age through adults. We sing most Sundays for the 10:30 AM service as well as special services and Diocesan events, and are joined by members of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra for our Christmas Eve service. First rehearsal: September 9.
We have three choirs for children and youth. All choirs receive choir pins based on the national Choristers Guild curriculum, with jewels added for years of service. In addition, each choir participates in an Awards Ceremony each year. Children who have soccer/sports practices on rehearsal days are welcome to join us in November.
PRIMARY CHOIR: Rehearses Tuesdays from 4:30 – 5:15 PM and is open to grades K – 1 (must be 5 years old by Sept. 1). Songs and rhythmic movement, percussion instruments, and musical games. First rehearsal: September 15.
JUNIOR CHOIR: Rehearses Wednesdays from 4:30 – 5:15 PM and is open to grades 2 – 5. Simple part-singing, percussion instruments and the use of handbells and handchimes! First rehearsal: September 16.
YOUTH CHOIR: Open to all singers and instrumentalists in grades 6 – 12. Because our youth have very busy schedules we will meet in September and set a rehearsal schedule together. Our first organizational meeting will be Sunday, Sept 27 at 11:45 AM (right after church). This year, in addition to singing, we are going to do some bell ensemble work so that we can play pieces that are just for bells rather than only ringing while we sing. If you have friends who might like to do this, please have them come to our first rehearsal – they don’t need to be members of St. Anne’s. The more people we have, the more different sizes of bells we can ring, including the very small and very large ones!
“This sounds great, but I can’t sing…”??? No problem! For you we have:
HANDBELL CHOIR: Rehearses Tuesdays from 7:00 – 8:00 PM. Open to high school age through adults. We play approximately four times a year as well as for Christmas and Easter services. Music reading is desirable but not mandatory. First rehearsal: September 15.
