Education

At Saint Anne’s we offer opportunities for spiritual growth all year round. Whether it is joining in Sunday school, attending a talk, or joining a small group or Bible study, there are plenty of chances to enter into theological reflection with others in our community. We affirm the creeds and ancient councils of the church, and we are proud that there is great diversity in what our members believe. We value our God-given gift of reason, we allow for doubt and uncertainty, and we appreciate that at times we struggle with Tradition and Scripture. We know that the Holy Spirit moves among us during times of doubt and struggle, and we treat each other with respect when our opinions differ.

Sunday Mornings

Below are our current formation offerings for adults. Sunday School classes for children and youth are in the Youth Center.

Coffee and the Gospel

Join us in the parish library on Sunday mornings from 9:15-10:15 for a rich, theological discussion. Our conversation begins with a reading from the appointed Gospel text and goes in just about every direction imaginable from there. This is a discussion-based, collaborative study, guided by clergy and laypeople alike. Questions and curiosity are welcome in this space as we seek to learn from one another.

Children’s Sunday School

Children’s Sunday School at Saint Anne’s is a time of play, worship, and community. We use a lectionary-based curriculum, so all ages are learning the same message each week. We use lessons that easily grabs kids ’attention with entertaining and theology-targeted Bible stories that help kids seek faith and understanding through the Bible’s message. This is where community begins with our children.

Youth Sunday School

Youth Sunday School at Saint Anne’s is all about fun! Learn more about the Bible while hanging out with your friends every Sunday at 9:15 am. Join Rev. Hannah downstairs in the Youth Center for games like Church Jeopardy and Biblical Taboo. Scripture, Episcopal identity, church history, liturgy, music and prayer are all part of our curriculum. No prior knowledge is expected or required: all are welcome.

During the week

Women’s Bible Study

From September to May, a group of women meets on Tuesday mornings from 9:30-10:30 AM in the parish conference room to participate in Bible study. Over the past few years, the group has studied Matthew, Acts, Romans and John. Starting in September, the group will be picking back up with a new study. This is a welcoming and inclusive group: be sure to join them!
