Dr. Joyce A. Schemanske

Joyce received her Doctor of Music degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. Before coming to St. Anne’s, she was the Associate Organist-Choirmaster at Holy Name Cathedral in Chicago, IL where she worked with noted composer Richard Proulx. She has also served on the faculties of St. Mary’s College in Notre Dame, IN and St. Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, IN. During her tenure at St. Anne’s, the music program has grown from two choirs to a full graded choral program and a five octave handbell choir. At the Diocesan level, Joyce has served on the Diocesan Music Commission and on the Dean’s Staff at Camp Mikell. She has also been on the planning committees for several national conventions held in Atlanta, including those of the American Guild of Organists and the Association of Anglican Musicians.
